Eight-year-old twins Sophie and Leo lived in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, Oregon. Sophie, with her long brown hair and glasses, was always asking questions about how things worked. Her twin brother Leo was just as curious, and together they made the perfect science team. One sunny morning, as they watched the news about volcanic activity in the Cascade Range, Sophie turned to Leo with sparkling eyes. "Why do volcanoes erupt?" she asked. Leo scratched his head.
